3. CAREER TRANSITION RESOURCE:

Thanks to Biznet member Lindy Blackburn (USMA '68) for passing along this item from a USNA grad:

My name is Tom Wolfe, USNA Class of 1972. I am a former naval officer and a recognized expert in career transition. During my career I placed ~3000 military officers into civilian jobs; ~2000 of them were Academy Grads.

I have written a book to assist service members and veterans make the transition to civilian employment and it was recently published by Potomac Books in both print and digital editions.

OUT OF UNIFORM: Your Guide to a Successful Military to Civilian Career Transition has been described as "an insightful, entertaining, and user-friendly guide to civilian transition, job hunting and interviewing for current and former military personnel."

On the book’s website (www.out-of-uniform.com) you will find a synopsis, endorsements, my bio, table of contents, and a preview.  Here is what Coach Mike Krzyzewski, Duke University Basketball Coach, West Point Class of 1969, and veteran says about the book:

"We owe our military service members so much, including the right to compete for a job when they leave the service. Out of Uniform just might give them that competitive edge. Are you a veteran? Read it! Know a veteran? Make sure he or she has a copy!"

Thanks for your support.

4. GRAD SEEKING ASSISTANCE:

Caleb Sharbono (USNA '04) currently resides in San Antonio but intends to move to Colorado.  He's trying to establish networking contacts in advance of such a move, including some who might have advice or assistance with his job search.  If you can offer such assistance, please contact Caleb as listed in his resume below.

Caleb writes:  "I'm interested in networking in the Denver/Boulder area but as you can imagine living in TX has provided some limitations.  My ultimate objective, next to meeting new people, is to move my family back to Colorado.  I currently work in Product Management for USAA's Investment Company.  I'm open to staying in the same field but would also be very interested in new opportunities/industries, perhaps in small business.
