Purchasing Program Manager - Job Opening

Agile1 is recruiting a Purchasing Program Manager (PPM) for one our clients in the automotive defense field.  Our company leverages its commercial truck and engine engineering capability, manufacturing expertise and global supply network to provide cost-effective design, production, and fleet support solutions to the military.  These capabilities allow our client to adapt and sustain its vehicles to meet the changing threats and requirements faced by the Armed Forces.  

The Purchasing Program Manager manages all purchasing activities with respect to assigned product development programs to ensure that business objectives are met.  The PPM represents purchasing on a cross-functional program team and facilitates overall sourcing, quoting, target cost, tooling, logistics, packaging, supplier quality, and supplier readiness.  Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Effectively manage purchasing requirements for product implementation and program launches.
  • Assurance of supplier capability to meet program objectives along with achieving strategic sourcing, target costs, tooling goals, and supplier readiness. 
  • Purchasing liaison to Quality, Service Parts, Manufacturing, and Engineering.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least 4 years of Purchasing experience
  • At least 4 years of Engineering, Program or Project Management experience
·         Ability to travel approximately 20%
·         Experience in program/project management and manufacturing

The Supplier Development Manager is responsible for managing strategic business relationships that require significant leadership in affecting a total approach to continuous improvement in supplier quality, cost, and technology and component systems.  Manages within corporate supplier quality system standards and a Product Quality Planning process that facilitates sourcing and development decisions for personnel from Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Supplier Quality.  Decisions impact over 75% of the dollar value of manufacturing costs.  Provides leadership and guidance to functional organizations and suppliers to directly impact the quality of products purchased and produced to and for the company through the supplier assessment process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Business
  • At least 5 years of quality experience
  • Ability to travel approximately 50%

The Supply Manager manages all sourcing activities associated with a set of specific products, commodities, and/or components. Creating and implementing sourcing strategies that provide a competitive advantage is key to success in the position. The outcome of implementing the sourcing strategies will be a supply base for the product / commodity set that is world class in the industry in terms of quality, cost, and delivery.

Desired Experience:

Job Opening - Agile 1 - Project Engineer

Product Engineer, Engine Calibration, Melrose Park, IL

Agile1 is recruiting a Product Engineer for one of our clients in the automotive defense field.  Our company leverages its commercial truck and engine engineering capability, manufacturing expertise and global supply network to provide cost-effective design, production, and fleet support solutions to the military.  These capabilities allow our client to adapt and sustain its vehicles to meet the changing threats and requirements faced by the Armed Forces. 

The Product Engineer will develop and validate the calibration of a diesel engine control system to meet customer needs and legislated requirements, release engine calibrations, and plan and execute engine calibration development testing in laboratory and field (cold, hot, and altitude).  Requires in depth knowledge subsystems (air management, fuel, aftertreatment, electronic, combustion) specifications, capabilities, and requirements necessary to meet future calibration requirements.  Develops test plans and design of experiments; constructs and writes calibration documentation such as specifications, DVP&R’s, FMEA's, calibration summaries, operation summaries, field service manuals, etc.; and provide summaries and recommendations from testing to Product Engineers.  Responsible for creating tasks and charts; managing programs, projects, and presentations; and training the less senior engineers. Involved with and responsible for customer relations with vendors, dealers, and customers. Works with minimum supervision within parameters established by supervisor, and may provide task direction to technicians and others assigned with minimal direction and routine reporting.

Requirements:
·         B.S. technical degree with 5 years engineering experience; or M.S. with thesis in core competency; or Ph.D. in general area of core competency without experience

·         Ability to work without a given process; improve current processes.
·         Demonstrated Emissions and performance calibration experience on an engine and / or vehicle.

·         Proficiency in MS Windows, Word and Excel, MatLab.
