Weekly News & Agenda for Tuesday, 6/11/13

1. AGENDA FOR TUESDAY, 6/11/13:

0700-0800:  Introductions, Assistance, and Open Forum Discussion.

During our open forum this week, it's your chance to go into a little more detail on what's happening in your world these days.  Be sure to also mention any networking needs, as there's a strong chance someone in the group will be able to offer advice, referrals, contacts, or other assistance.

2. UPCOMING TUESDAY SPEAKERS/PROGRAMS:

-- 6/11/13 (this week):  Open Forum - see above.

-- 6/18/13:  Pete Mangold (USMA '02) will talk about Team Red White & Blue.  Team RWB is a nonprofit whose mission is to enrich the lives of America's veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.  Pete started the Denver chapter and was involved in the recent addition of a Colorado Springs chapter.  He will explain what Team RWB does and how interested veterans can get involved.  www.teamrwb.org.

-- 6/25/13:  TBD.  If you'd like to invite a speaker or lead a discussion on this date or any future Tuesday, just let me know at panicciaj@aol.com.

3. GRAD GROUP TRAVEL TO IRELAND:

Thanks to Lindy Blackburn (USMA '69) for passing along this item.  His classmate, Mike Healy, is from the West Point Society of DC.  Presumably all academy grads are welcome to join this trip.  Mike writes as follows:

I am the West Point Society of DC member leading this tour. The West Point Society of Denver is invited to join this trip. The WPSDC is going to Ireland in September 2013. A few testimonials from the Ireland Tour in 2012:
“Absolutely the best! Thanks to all for making our Ireland tour an unforgettable experience. From meeting us at Shannon Airport, arranging transportation, to the History of Ireland presentation, the traditional Irish dancers and singers to the local pub band made everyone truly feel part of Ireland. We have done bus tours in the past and it can become quite hectic. This way we could relax as well as partake in the desired excursions. We just loved it! A perfect trip!" Jim Ball, USMA 1969
“Our Ireland tour was a never-to-be-forgotten, unique life-experience, with a perfect mix of Irish Tradition, History, Golf, Pubs, Castles and local Landmarks - and Irish Whiskey, of course! The Dunloe is a warm, classic hotel of Ireland! Our class is very discerning, and I heard NO comments less than "Great!"” Jim Mesite, USMA 1969
“I cannot think of a more incredible week than the one we recently spent in Killarney. To be able to develop, renew, and re-establish relationships with classmates and spouses while thoroughly enjoying the superb accommodations and non-stop activities is difficult to adequately describe. The only way this week could have been better is if it were two weeks - an unbelievable time!!" Dave Hofstetter, USMA 1969
