Agenda for Tuesday, 8/14/12

1. AGENDA FOR TUESDAY, 8/14/12:

0700-0730: INTRODUCTIONS & ASSISTANCE

We start with roundtable introductions, focusing on any networking needs. Feel free to also bring up any topics of general interest.

0730-0800: SPEAKER/PROGRAM

Bob Ahrens (USNA '69) will talk about a new program to provide mentoring for USNA alumni. The program is being proposed as part of a class gift from USNA '69.

While this speaker and topic should be a natural draw for USNA grads, the discussion seems likely to benefit grads of all academies.  It's always interesting, and educational, to hear new ideas or variations in how the respective academies and their networks are supporting their members.

Thanks to J.J. Mackin (USNA '68) for arranging to have Bob speak with us this week.

2. UPCOMING TUESDAY PROGRAMS:

8/14/12 (this week):  Bob Ahrens - see above.

8/21/12:  Biznet member Bill Sumner (USMA '78) will speak about Breakthrough Psychology.  Bill is a neural psychologist and business coach.  He has been coaching super achievers and rising companies for 20 years.  He is holding a fire walk in the Marriot-DTC hotel on Friday night, Sept 7th.  At our Biznet meeting on 8/21, he plans to discuss “breakthrough” psychology – what is it?  What does it mean?  How does one achieve it?  What holds someone back from achieving larger dreams and visions?  Is it possible to take an “average” person and turn them into a super over-achieving leader?  How would one go about doing that?
8/28/12:  David Pigott (USMA '03) will speak about current issues in Colorado.  David is running for a seat in the Colorado House of Representatives, from Broomfield.

If you'd like to invite a speaker or lead a discussion yourself on any future Tuesday morning, just let me know at panicciaj@aol.com
