Weekly News & Agenda for Tuesday, 8/20/13

1. AGENDA FOR TUESDAY, 8/20/13:

0700-0730:  Introductions and Assistance.

0730-0800:  Speaker/Program.
State of the Biznet.  This is something we used to do a few times each year -- take time to discuss how we're doing as a group.  Bring your feedback and ideas on anything we could be doing better.  We also use this time to brainstorm speaker ideas or discussion topics.  So grab some coffee, catch up with your fellow grads, and join the discussion.

2.  UPCOMING SPEAKERS:

8/20/13 (this week):  State of the Biznet - see above.
8/27/13:  Kurt Schlaefer and Ken Pethe will give a talk on electric vehicles.

If you have a speaker in mind for a future Tuesday morning, or you'd like to lead a discussion yourself, just let me know at panicciaj@aol.com.

3.  HOMELAND SECURITY INTEL ANALYST POSITION IN ALBUQUERQUE:

Thanks to Biznet member Larry Aubrecht (USMA '72) for passing along the following item from his network:

Mr. Simon Carl writes as follows:   I have recently made contact with the New Mexico Director of Homeland Security -- Greg Myers (retired USAF O-6).  He is newly appointed and feeling his way in the HS environment.  He is in need of a senior intel analyst to head up his fusion center.  Greg realizes these types are not easy to find (leadership/organizational skills)
and has asked me/I offered to help.  NM gov is not in a position to pay a significant salary, but this type of work might just appeal to someone who is getting ready to retire/has a passion for supporting HS and is interested in living in Albuquerque.  Please let me know if you have anyone in mind.
