Weekly News & Agenda for Tuesday, 8/5/14

1. AGENDA FOR TUESDAY, 8/5/14:

0700-0730: Introductions & Assistance

0730-0800: Speaker
This week Lauren Gore (USMA '07) will talk about his business development firm (LDR Investments) and the unique niche they are trying to fill. www.ldrinvest.com

Lauren's business venture was also explained in a Biznet blog post/email, sent by Dave Jackson on 7/24/14. Here's a partial reprint of that Biznet post, in which Lauren explains their focus:

We are looking to connect with business owners, managers, and executives in the transportation, manufacturing, and oil & gas space, with small and medium sized (max 50 employees) oil & gas being the primary industry of interest. The company we are working with is headquartered in Casper, WY. This will be our base of operations; however, we have flexibility in our schedule to meet in the Denver or surrounding areas anytime during the period between August 2 and August 10. I would prefer to meet with small groups of 2-3 at a time. I may attend these meetings with one or both of my partners, depending on their availability. At the end of the day, my goal is to learn more about the Denver / Rocky Mountain area business community and build some relationships in an area that my partners and I will be working in and around for at least the next several months.

Lauren and one of his business partners met with a few Biznet members over lunch today (Sun/Aug3) and will also be our speaker on Tuesday. Join us Tuesday morning to hear more about their story and the business development services they provide to small and medium sized business.

2. SPEAKER SCHEDULE:

3. RESULTS FROM TRI-SERVICES GOLF OUTING:

Congratulations to the USAFA team, whose top foursome beat all others this past Friday, 8/1/14, in the Tri-Services Golf Outing at the Eisenhower Golf Club at USAFA. Air Force's win comes after many consecutive years of West Point dominance in this annual competition. Many thanks to Joel Martin (USMA '02) for his outstanding job in coordinating this year's event.
