Experience
Assistant Safety Officer:  

Lead the Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) program onboard a large U.S. Naval command which included overseeing the asbestos, lead prevention and hazardous material along with occupational respirator, noise, heat index and confined space entry programs. Investigated mishaps, collected data and evaluated trends. Conducted training and inspections to ensure safety regulations and mandates were maintained.

Emergency Response Team Lead:

Coordinated response exercises for casualties and emergency situations such as, hazardous material (HAZMAT) spill recovery, firefighting, injured personnel medical services, radiological spills and aircraft crash and rescue.

Assistant Quality Assurance Officer:

Lead the quality assurance program involved in the planning and execution of repairs accomplished on nuclear and other high energy systems. The program included approved work procedures, inspections and certification test for work performed by craftsman.

Non-Destructive Testing Examiner:

Conducted training and monitored nondestructive test personnel. Developed and administered written and practical certification exams for inspectors and welders performing work on nuclear and non-nuclear systems.

Production Planner:

Developed procedures for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of equipment installed on board U.S. Naval ships.

Computer Systems Instructor:

Provided end-user training for large-scale computer based Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) solutions. Met with clients and managers and develop training curriculum which matched the needs of the business. Conducted classroom and computer based training for clients using the ERP solution.

4.  VETERAN HIRING EVENT - Nov 5, Wheat Ridge:

Thanks to Biznet member Dave Jackson (USMA '73) for forwarding this item from the Jeffco Workforce Investment Board (WIB):

We would like to invite you to visit the Add-a-Vet Academy being held November 4th – the 6th.
The event will host approximately 28 companies and nearly 80 Veterans seeking employment. The Academy details are below but this is a great opportunity for WIB members to see the American Job Center in action. On Tuesday November 5th from 10-2 p.m. veterans will be interviewing for positions with the companies participating. If you can attend at all this would be a great time to do so!
If you can attend in lieu of the WIB meeting please take a minute and thank the participating businesses. We are incredibly impressed with the response we have received from our community businesses and want to thank them for making an effort to hire those who have diligently served our country.
We are excited to see the results and look forward to sharing event highlights with you in December for those that cannot attend.
