3. CONGRATS TO J.J. MACKIN (USNA '68) ON THE COMMISSIONING OF THE USS COLORADO:

On Saturday, 17 March 2018, the USS Colorado was commissioned at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, CT.  It is the 15th boat in the Virginia class of fast attack submarines, and the 4th vessel to carry the name USS Colorado.  

As many of you know, J.J. Mackin is chairman of the USS Colorado Commissioning Committee.  His efforts have spanned the past 4-5 years, involving endless fund-raising and numerous special events in support of our sailors and the naval community.  Congrats to J.J. on a job well done!

Colonel Bill Medina (USMA '90) will provide a presentation on Afghan Special Security Forces.  As a Special Forces Officer Bill has worked with the Afghan forces in the past and will base his discussion on his most recent experience as the Deputy Commander -Support for the NATO Special Operations Component Command and Special Operations Joint Task Force from May 2016 to May 2017. The discussion will include details about the man, train, equip, employ efforts that US and NATO Special Operations Forces undertake in support of strategic goals for the Afghan Campaign.

Speaker on Tuesday/13th -- Colonel Bill Medina (USMA '90)


Just a reminder that Colonel Bill Medina (USMA '90) will be our speaker on Tuesday (13 March):
