3. AMERICAN LEGION EVENT FOR FEMALE VETERANS - 2/23/13:

Terri Shelefontiuk writes as follows, about an upcoming event.  She is Chair of the Female Veterans Action Committee for the American Legion, Department of Colorado.

I wanted to get the word out on an important event coming up for female
veterans on Saturday, February 23, at noon.  It is being hosted by the Smoky Hill United Methodist Church in Centennial.

As I go around the state and visit posts, and based on comments from my
committee members and several female veterans I know personally, the number
one complaint I hear is the hurdle and unfriendly culture they face in using
VA health care.

This year, one of The American Legion's National initiatives is a renewed
focus on female veterans. Reverend Dr. Kathy Haley, a FVAC member and former Air Force Lieutenant, will be leading a discussion after the screening of the movie The Invisible War, on
the 23rd.

This is an invitation to ALL female veterans (you do not have to be a
Legionnaire). We hope the event is informative but, most importantly,
provides an atmosphere of camaraderie.

A CALL FOR JUSTICE
When: Saturday, February 23
Where: Smoky Hill United Methodist Church
19491 E. Smoky Hill Rd., Centennial, CO
Join in an afternoon filled with camaraderie, as we explore
the epidemic of sexual assault, rape and sexual harassment
among both men and women serving in all branches of
the US military, documented in the flim
THE INVISIBLE WAR
Movie and lunch at noon.
Roundtable discussions will follow.
***Lunch provided by the church***

RSVP to Reverend Kathy Haley
