Arapahoe/Douglas Veterans Employment Expo - 5 April 2018

Here's a short-notice item for job seekers in the Denver metro area -- see below.  Thanks to BizNet member Bob Fretzs who spotted this and passed it along.

Arapahoe/Douglas Works! to partner on Military and Veterans Employment Expo April 5 at City of Aurora Municipal Center in Aurora. All Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve Members, Veterans and their spouses are urged to attend. Service members can meet with empoyers 10 a.m – 2 p.m. at 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, Aurora, CO 80012
Representatives from several companies will be participating with more than 1500 job opportunities available through potential employers.
In the last year, A/D Works! Workforce Center has served 2,841 veterans from our area.

Service Academy BizNet of Denver meets weekly on Tuesdays at 0700, in the Embassy Suites hotel at 7525 East Hampden Avenue, Denver, CO 80231.  From I-25, exit at Hampden, then proceed east for 1 mile, where the hotel will be on your left.  Parking at the hotel is free. Look for us in the 14'ers Room, which is to your left as you enter the hotel's central atrium.  RSVP is not required. Dress is casual. Attendance is open to graduates of the federal service academies (USAFA, USCGA, USMA, USMMA, USNA). 0700-0800:  Introductions, Assistance, and Open Forum Discussion

During introductions, tell us a bit about yourself and any networking needs. We can help with referrals, advice, job search assistance, and other networking.  You're also welcome to bring up any  topics of general interest.

10 April:  Speaker TBD or Open Forum Networking.

17 April:  Kurt Schlaefer (USAFA '70) will give a talk about one of his business ventures.

24 April:  Kate Smith (USAFA '82) will speak about learning to swim at USAFA.
