1. AGENDA FOR TUESDAY, 8/9/11:
0700-0800: INTRODUCTIONS & OPEN FORUM DISCUSSION
The floor is open this week for expanded discussions on networking needs and topics of interest.
During introductions we never get stuck on formalities, but the common approach is to simply give your name, academy and class, and current occupation (or what new opportunities you're seeking). Then feel free to elaborate on any specific networking needs, or comment on any topics of interest. When we have no speaker scheduled, as is the case this week, there is even more time to go into greater depth on any topic you'd like.
2. UPCOMING TUESDAY PROGRAMS:
8/16/11: Julie Schrock will talk with us about her recently published book - Missing Max - Finding Hope After the Death of My Marine Son. It's the story of her son's death in Aghanistan (one year ago today, on August 7, 2010), and her experiences since then. Please plan to join us, as this promises to be a highly inspirational discussion.
3. BIZNET-RELATED NETWORKING SITES:
Several Biznetters have recently highlighted the grad networking opportunities available via such tools as LinkedIn and Facebook. As a reminder, here's a partial list of some of the more common sites you might want to check out.
LinkedIn (search for these on linkedin.com):
Denver Service Academy Biznet (our Tuesday morning group)
Service Academy BizNet Pikes Peak Region (our sister group in Colorado Springs)
Denver Service Academy Business Professionals (local group, with downtown focus)
Service Academy Business Professionals (national group, many job postings)
Academy BizNet of Colorado
Various academy and/or class sites
Have a good week.
Joe Paniccia (USMA '84)
