Weekly News & Agenda for Tuesday, 2/26/13

1. AGENDA FOR TUESDAY, 2/26/13:

0700-0730:  INTRODUCTIONS & ASSISTANCE
During group introductions, tell us what's new for you lately, especially any networking needs.  It's likely someone will be able to assist with referrals, advice, or other help with your particular need.  Even if you don't have immediate needs, consider joining us on Tuesday for the long-term networking value.

0730-0800:  SPEAKER/PROGRAM

Bill Sumner (USMA '78) will provide a mini-seminar on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).   Bill is a neural psychologist, skilled in the latest in advanced neural technology.  He will talk about troubling developments in the standards for diagnosis of PTSD, and how the military and veteran support communities fall short in addressing it.  You will come away from this talk with very specific tools that will allow you to begin to ameliorate the symptoms and better understand this misunderstood condition in a radically different way.
2. UPCOMING SPEAKERS/PROGRAMS:

-- 2/26/13: (this week):  Bill Sumner (USMA '78) - see above.
-- 3/5/13:  TBD/Open Forum.
If you'd like to invite a speaker or lead a discussion on any future Tuesday, just let me know, at panicciaj@aol.com.

3.  PRESENTATION FILE FROM FIRST ROBOTICS DISCUSSION:

Leo DeGreef (USAFA '79) gave an excellent presentation at our Tuesday morning Biznet meeting on 2/5/13, on the high school science and technology program known as FIRST Robotics.  That presentation is now posted at   http://academybiznet.org/presentations/130205_Academybiznet-FIRST_Robotics_presentation.docx .  Note especially the upcoming regional competition at Magness Arena in Denver, April 4-6, 2013.  If you'd like to get involved or have other questions, contact Leo at leo.degree@comcast.net.
