0700-0730: Introductions and assistance.
0730-0800: SPEAKER: J.J. Mackin (USNA '68). As most of you know, J.J. is heading up the committee that will fund and coordinate the commissioning ceremony for the USS Colorado. The USS Colorado (SSN 788) is a Virginia-class submarine being built now, with commissioning expected about 2 years from now. http://usscoloradocommittee.org/wp/
J.J. describes the talk he will give us this week, as follows:
The topic I would like to present is a preview of
the USS Colorado Ship’s Crest Design Contest which we will be running starting
in November. It is anticipated that the winner’s entry will become the official
Ship’s crest. We will also be having a contest for school age children to enter
into a Junior category. I will also discuss the Commissioning ceremony for USS
North Dakota that I am attending this weekend.

Service Academy BizNet of Denver meets weekly on Tuesdays at 0700, in the Marriott Hotel at the Denver Tech Center. From I-25, exit Belleview east, then turn north onto Syracuse Street. The Marriott lots are paid parking (approx $2-4), however you can park for FREE across the street at Garcia's Restaurant (we have their permission). Look for us in the seating area inside the Marriott's coffee shop. RSVP is not required. Dress is casual. Attendance is open to graduates of the federal service academies (USAFA, USCGA, USMA, USMMA, USNA). There are no dues or fees.
